Crib & Cradle
Reviews
I am the owner of Crib & Cradle. Crib & Cradle is NOT a luxury hotel or accommodation facility by any depth of the imagination - but rather it is Authentic Workers Camp-styled accommodation Built by EZ Mines Rosebery for their workers in the 1950's and 1960's. It's style is BASIC and durable NOT built for Luxury or Modern comforts. However the Business has put in all new beds, all linen is replaced on a regular basis, and every room/apartment is serviced by our staff. In response to Dimitris - it is a pity that you never said anything when you were here, even when asked in the morning how did you sleep - and you said NOTHING!!! But chose to publicly air your complaints. Complaints are fine if it does not meet your expectations, but at least do it in manner that gives us the right to respond in a fair manner. In our defence that particular unit is owned by another party - who despite our repeated requests will not spend any money on maintenance or visual appeal. As to the cleanliness of the sheets every room is serviced by our cleaners after EVERY STAY - so i can definitely vouch that the bedsheets were clean! Crib & Cradle is authentic workers 1950's camp-styled accommodation with both Self-contained and semi-contained rooms. Luxury it is not!; But we do offer a good clean bed and a hearty home-style cooking in our Licenced Crib Room Cafeteria/Dining Room. I have stayed in quite a few basic accommodation facilities in my time and i can assure you that Crib & Cradle is not one of those. One place near Ipswich Qld we had to find brooms to remove the cobwebs and spiders before we could use the rooms. In the Solomon Islands we stayed in places that had no beds but a woven Mat on a concrete floor, and other we used a woven matt on split bamboo (rounded side up) floor - now that was even harder than the concrete floor to sleep on. Cognitive dissonance is a hard thing to overcome - if one expects luxury but gets basic 1950's accommodation (even when advertised as such) it probably is a hard thing to get over. All i ask is that you speak with me what your requirements are fully when you are booking, so we can place you in the right style of accommodation facility that we have.
Probably the worst room I've ever stayed in. Definitely not clean (even the bedsheets looked dubious). The $120 we paid for the en-suite "apartment" is a rip off. Maybe that's the standard for accommodation in Rosebery- I wouldn't know. The only upside was that the owner was quite accommodating and checked us in although the reception was closed (it was not too late but the area is quiet in general so you should try and check in before 6 when in the region).
Great place.
