Masaaki's sushi is almost as inviting as the man himself. Every time you visit you leave feeling like you are the luckiest sushi lover in the world and are planning your next return before you have even said goodbye. There are plenty of food blogs around so I won't duplicate the reviews here. Do yourself a favour and take the time to drive to Geeveston & get yourself & your taste buds ready for an experience. Masaaki is a little more expensive that the Sushi train style stuff that you see in the city, but when you see and taste the art that is Masaaki sushi you will know it was worth it. Open your mind and your wallet, then enjoy the ride.

The most amazing food. Tiny place, but great service and the biggest welcoming smiles. The miso soup was out of this world as was our platter of wonderfully fresh delights. I feel so lucky to have somewhere like this in my own home town. I am very proud when I take my interstate visitors.

Awesome. Masaaki is lovely and his sushi amazing. The best sushi in Tasmania

Very nice sea urchin sushi!!! Didn't make a booking in advance so only had take out, but didn't regret at all. Had sushi nearby, a nice green ground, winter in TAS is still so pretty.

I had read about the infamous Masaaki on various food blogs and was eager to try his creations. I must say though that nothing quite prepared me for the experience of meeting the man himself because he carries an aura that is not often found in this world. The moment I walked through the door, his beaming smile made you feel like a welcomed friend instead of just another customer. There's plenty of information to be found about this master of Sushi so I won't regurgitate it all here, but suffice to say that you would never be disappointed with the experience of meeting such a wonderful and passionate chef. We ordered a variety of beautifully presented Sushi that looked too good to eat. Salmon so fresh it was just incredible, but the absolute treat for me was the freshly grated Wasabi which he served with his selection. We ended up going back for more, tempted by a cup of his freshly made Miso. A truly wonderful and memorable experience. Make sure you stop in on the way to or from the Tahune Airwalk.
