One of the friendliest and most interesting places we've been to on our trip. Lovely and helpful owners who are very much experts in their field, and really care about the museum and Australian/Coober Pedy History. The tour is fun, and at the end you can go 'mining' by yourself. And if you find something of value, and you ask Trevor really nicely, he may take you to his workshop and show you how Opal's are processed.
I strongly recommend this to anyone passing in Coober Pedy - one of our trip's greatest highlights
Interesting place to visit but it can be a little boring for the kids!
Condensate of Coober Pedy. Old mine, dugout home and, if you need it, knowledgeable opal sales. If you have time for just one thing, this should be a top candidate.
