Morgans Seafood Restaurant & Teppanyaki Room
Reviews

Took an interstate visitor for lunch at Morgan's today. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! The chips were excellent but it stopped there. My visitor ordered a seafood basket - fish was old and overcooked, prawns had the intestinal tract in place (not a great taste). I ordered prawns which were old and squishy and the crumb was thick and soggy. Mine also had part of the intestinal tract still in place denoting that they had not been cleaned properly. They also tasted way past their use-by date. All in all it was a complete waste of time, money, and petrol. We wont be going back and will not be recommending Morgan's to anyone else. This place has gone down hill markedly.

I went in there expecting some level of expertise from the staff that work there, but received nothing but vague responses and surprised faces, when I asked if they sold diamond scale mullet. The most senior staff member, a women in her late forties looked as though I asked her when the next space ship was heading back to the planet Zordon. I in return was just as surprised and astounded at the irony that I am standing inside a fish wholesalers or mongers and before me stands a women dripping in fish guts and surrounded by seafood in a building ubiquitous with everything fishy who cant even identify with a common species of mullet. At what point in the world did people start loosing their skill base sympathetic to their profession. As I had come this far I perused and purchased a very expensive pathetic size fillet of local Taylor and left. The end result to this sad tale was that the fish was over priced not all that fresh as is their trademark statement and very diminutive in portion. When will the retail owners of Redcliffe wake up and start respecting their local customer base. This is absolutely disgraceful.

My wife liked oyster very much while I kind of dislike it if not hate it. I kept trying to persuade her not eat those raw food with possible parasites but failed every time. Until the day we ordered oyster again in this restaurant, I found a live bug crawled out from the oyster. The bug is about 2cms long, black, slim, about 2mm in diameter, looks like a mini-snake. It's very active, swimming in the oyster's shell. The scene is so impressive that I actually laughed loudly. Since then, my wife doesn't enjoy oyster any more. I think I should thank this restaurant for the successful persuasion. I don't know whether I can remember other restaurants, but I'm sure I'll remember this restaurant for my life with the oyster and the unnamed bug.

Overrated, got up the hill to the little fish'n'chip shop on the corner heaps better food

This year will be third year we have done Xmas dinner at Morgans, and looking forward to it. The past two years the cold seafood has been magnificent and plenty of it as well as hot cooked sea food, ham and turkey and roast veg available. The fresh salads were really fresh and innovative. Last year I think I counted seven puddings to choose from -- we chose the little Xmas puds and they were superb. We've found staff very friendly, polite, and helpful and looked after us well with very good humour. Only problem is the food is so good one really needs a lie down and a sleep in the park across the road before driving home.
