organised to take my sister in law and niece for lunch yesterday my sister in law went and ordered when her meal arrived it was the wrong one so it went back and the young man said the replacement meal would arrive soon and said 8 mins 45 mins later after we other 2 had finished our meals still no replacement she requested her money back only to be told the cook was just going to put the oven on to start cooking we ended up in the coffee shop where she got her lunch the food we eat was good its a pity the service isn't Barbara Warrilow
Like all biggish well establish Australian pubs the quality of the service and the food varies. As at the time of writing both are pretty good. But the real attraction of the place is its cool spacious setting in the middle of Cleveland. The bar is a bit spartan and it is a shame that they don't seem to bother running the water feature any more. The dining area is under roofing but has no airconditioning---it never seems to need it. Thankfully, while the views are not spectacular they look onto greenery rather than parking lots.
On a quiet lunch it took 50 minutes to get a burger. Stink from the smokers floats across the lunch room. This is not a terribly pleasant place to eat.
I had an amazing pear, walnut and fetta salad with Calamari...thanks guys!
Poor service. After waiting longer than the table that was seated 10 minutes after us for our meal. The waitress then tried to prove us wrong that we ordered after them where our receipt clearly showed we ordered much earlier. After dinner we used the cigarette machine which swallowed the $20 and were told by staff 'it happens regularly'. Management didn't want to know about about it and didn't care and needless to say we never heard back from the vendor. Needless to say, we lost our money. Overall, a poor experience which detracted from good food.
