Stunned, what else can I say. I travel a lot with my work and stay in many of the small towns across Australia. This was something else... Right from 'full size' queen beds through to balcony views overlooking Merriwa, located in the middle of this country town, making for easy walking to the cafes and restaurants and the local hotel. The accommodation itself is of a high quality. Simply put, that's not all. Working, seeing clients all day long; I don't have time for a lunch break so Breakfast is a pretty important meal for me. Breakfast served here is outstanding in quality, quantity and value for money. There is no doubt in my mind that I would stay anywhere else other than here when working or visiting in the Upper Hunter. Good job and hope to be staying there again soon!
As a contractor working in the Upper Hunter Valley I periodically have to work in Merriwa. I finally decided to try out B and B on Bettington and I have not, and will not look back. The room I stayed in was exceptionally clean and tidy, and Peter and Pam are great to chat with. This accommodation is a pleasant and fresh change to what has been on offer in Meriwa in the past. I'll be staying here again as its a whole lot better than anything else offered in Merriwa. PS. The $10 breakfast Peter has on offer is hard to pass up and if highly recommended.
We were also attracted by the great looking building and decided to stay here when we attended a wedding. We were shocked to discover on arrival that there was only one bathroom shared by all fifteen guests!!! I don't even have to share a bathroom at home - let alone with fourteen "strangers". I noticed there was no mention of this extreme lack of privacy in all the luxurious advertising! Very disappointed at the lack of honesty.
