Romano's Pizzeria & Lounge
Reviews
I don't get why people think it's so bad. Good service, good pizza, nice ambiance as far as small town pizza places go. It's nice that a town the size of Evansville has a place like this. I'll certainly be back.
Based on negative reviews we drove around town looking for something better but for such a neat quaint town there are not many choices so we ended up going in here with low expectations. I was Very surprised, nice very clean with a neat Italian decor with murals etc. It looks to be a family ran business - busy hard working people that care about the business and it's customer's. We had pizza and cheese bread everything was good, it's a thicker cracker type of crust which is not my personal favorite type but its a type of crust that doesn't make it cheap or bad. The sauce, cheese was plentiful and overall it was good - we liked the cheese bread the most. This place doesn't deserve the poor reviews based on our experience..
Wonderful food and great service.
HORRIBLE!! I am not picky and I rarely write reviews but I just had to for this place. Purchased a burger and fires, fish and fries and a kids chicken and fries. 1. The burger was like the bottom of my shoe. Burnt on the outside and one of the beef patties was pink inside. I can honestly say that it was the worst burger I have ever eaten. If I get more time I will be uploading pictures it was that bad. 2. It was a busy night, and the staff were running around like headless chickens. They took my order and after 15 minutes asked me what I was waiting for. She then proceeded to go into the kitchen and look through all the slips. She had forgotten my order. 3. The fish gave my wife an upset stomach and was overly greasy. Her side salas had expired and the lettuce had noticeable brownness. 4. The kids meal was the best part. Simple chicken nuggets and fries. There was also a problem here though. Almost $6 for a kids meal with about 14 fries (thrown into a large fries bag) and 2 chicken nuggets. My 2 year old was still hungry afterward. 5. The kids meal is meant to come with a dessert and a drink. Not given, but I really just wanted to leave, so when I got to the car, I just kept going. 6. The website doesn't actually match the in house menu. 7. The girl at the desk apologized for the wait. At least she had manners. I have worked in 2 pizza rias. This place really disappointed and is not capable of meeting high demand. 4 people in the kitchen and another 2 kids out front bumping into eachother, while they serve up garbage.
Sorry to say but we drove from Madison on recommendation from an employee. Apparently we did not need silverware as we did not get any, When we asked all we got for 3 people was one set of silverware, I guess we share silverware. The pizza was maybe a tad better than frozen pizza, bread sticks not so good. Ribs just a frozen amateur version. Seems like the food was just purchased from a distributor , not home made. Ok if you live in Evansville but would not drive more than 5 miles to go here. Good luck - Georgios in Milton still #1 in Wisconsin for me, with Spartan Pizza in Mcfarland close behind!
