We stopped later on a Sunday evening. The beer, cider and wine tastings were fun. Not at all crowded. Server very helpful and patient. Would gladly stop again. Less then 5inutes from route 104

It really pains me to give Becker Farms such a low ranking but the changes they have made each year are not for the better. I have been going to Becker every year for the past 7 years and I think this will be the last. First I'm not going to blame them for it being crowded. It's not their fault for being successful. We always get there right around opening to avoid the lines. However, there is plenty to blame them for. Let's start with the nickel and diming that is happening. There used to be a free smaller petting zoo where the kids could feed the animals. Then they have a paid petting zoo with more activities for the kids to do. Now there is a charge for both areas. And separate charges at that. For my wife, child and I it would have been $17 for the smaller petting zoo and $45 for the larger section. So we would already be down $62. We could go to the Buffalo Zoo twice for that price! Then if you want to go apple picking, everyone over 2 years of age needs a bag. I fully understand why they do that but let's say you have a family of four, if you get the smallest bag that's still $18. So if you just wanted to do the two petting zoos and pick apples you'd be in $80! The fields still had plenty of apples left on the trees. However, when we asked our tractor driver where the different varieties of apples were he said, "I have no idea". Your job is to drive people out to apple orchards, you should know where things are! There are only a few sporadic signs on the rows of apples so we had to do a bit of searching and guessing. Now let's talk about the most disappointing aspect, the food. Normally the food is very good, Chivetta's style chicken and ribs. This year was awful. My wife and I got two chicken dinners costing us $21 total. When we cut into the chicken it was ice cold. You could tell it was left over from the night before because the skin was all wrinkled. We were one of the first people to get food that day so there's no way it was fresh cooked that morning. How can they possibly be selling leftover chicken??!!! It also lacked any flavor whatsoever. A major disappointment! I should have taken it back but after an entire morning of disappointments I didn't have the energy and we went home. So again let's look at the cost, if you wanted two zoo areas, apple picking and food you'd be in $100!!! Do you know how much you can do in this town for $100?! I'm guessing by the size of the crowds that Becker Farms will do nothing to make any changes since they are printing money. But as I'm starting to see more and more people sharing my opinions on here I'm guessing they might be forced to look at their business with a critical eye.

A friend and I visited Becker Farms for the first time last weekend after reading reviews that it was a popular spot to pick apples. We drove an hour to get there. Lets just say, worst choice ever! You have to park a half a mile away out in a field of bumpy terrain while worrying if the bottom of your car is getting scratched up. The place was ridiculously busy. You have to ask random people where everything is located because there are no signs to guide you around this huge place. We made our way to the white barn in the back of the premises that sold fresh donuts and apple cider. (The donuts were good, I will give them that). After an hour wait in the very hot sun, we finally made it to the counter and made our purchases. There was ONE young girl working the counter with NO HELP! No wonder it took so long to get through the line! Inside this little shop, there were dead flies all over the ground, bees all over, and empty boxes piled up near an out of commission bar. Absolutely disgusting! We then wait in line for 20 mins just to buy 2 small bags to fill with apples. Then another 20 mins to get onto the tractor to bring us out to the picking field. We made our way down aisles to the left and there were literally NO apples to be found on any of these rows. We were dumbfounded. We go to the right side and apples are very sparce. We did find ONE kind of apple up near where the tractor stops but had no clue what kind they were as they were not labeled. I was looking specificly for baking apples. There was no worker around to even ask what kind they were so we just ended up quickly filling our bag so we could get the heck out of this place! On our way out to the car we stopped into a little shop for fudge but there was very little to select from. I wanted to purchase a growler of hard cider but they were completely out. We gave up and left. I have never been so disappointed with such a fun tradition of apple picking in my life! I definitely DO NOT recommend this place to anyone unless you like waiting in long lines just to find there is nothing left!
