The best bar in all of the Truckee Meadows for local and touring musical acts. The owners and staff are friendly and the drink prices are fair......Love this place!
They got country blues, not jazz blues, not rhythm and blues, country blues. I think there's a distinction. It's not a bad place especially after it was once the Blue Lamp drug lounge and then before that Molly MacGuire's felon bar. The crowd is mostly middle aged. It's a good size with lots of tables and a small dance floor in front of the stage. The only drawback is that it feels isolated on the North side of the tracks. But then again, if you want to get away from the young, hip, UNR dorks, it's ideal. I'm kidding about the dork thing, it just sounded funny. Only some UNR folks are dorks, probably the same percent as the general population.
When have you ever walked down a street and passed a little bar on a Tuesday night with an ORCHESTRA playing? I was stunned and the music was great! I don't live in Reno but when I go back I will definitely re-visit 3rd Street Bar.

Heard about this place from a friend. They have a comedy competition every Wednesday night thats was a lot of fun. Also saw a blues band there last Saturday and it was good times! Definitely worth checking out.
