I'm not quite sure who trains the employees over here, but the service I received recently was inexcusable. I went in with some friends as part of a large event being held here. Food and company was advertised and I was ready to eat. I have eaten here back when they were in the old building and was looking forward to the NY Strip. When we arrived, we got some water from the waiter and then never heard from him again. 45 minutes later, we were trying to figure out when our order was going to be taken. Some people were already getting food but with around 50 people in our get together, they only had one young kid serving us all. At one point, near that 45 minute mark, one person told an adult employee that about six of us were at our table were still waiting to have our orders taken. That employee promised to get that fixed then walked off and began serving water and coffee to other parts of the restaurant. I watched her and not once did I see here get anyone else and send them over. A few minutes later, we left and went to McDonald's. I may not have gotten that steak I wanted, but I saved $20 and got better service. Before leaving, I complained to the lone waiter who had been left with trying to handle us all. And what did he tell me..."Well we didn't think any of you would be ordering food." Hello? What kind of business are you running again? And did it not cross your mind that you could have just come over and asked if we would like to order food? One of the friends I arrived with worked in the food industry for six years. He was appalled at the level of service seen here. And we weren't alone. Later that night, reports arrived from others who were there that it took forever to have their order taken. Advice: 1.ASK to take our order. It's a bit hard to say we don't want to order food when you don't take 30 seconds to ask us. 2.When someone tells you that we are waiting to have our order taken, then either take the orders or get some people over there to take the orders. 3.When a party of 50 people show up to your restaurant, a group that one staff member seemed to be aware was going to be there, then assign more than one lone (and seemingly new & inexperienced based on observations and the very few interactions) waiter to handle the group. With a group that large, you should have had at least 3 or 4 people out there taking orders. Well, you lost a least $25 from me (at that was just the food I was going to buy), and who knows how much from the two friends I was with. Considering I have been coming up here every year for seven years to camp, don't expect me to try eating here again.
Great breakfast; omelet to die for good service and try the bayou chicken for dinner
