Dakota Harvest Bakers

Need to work on the customer service imo. I think it is a diamond in the rough. *update* I definitely love to stop here every time I am in town. Their baked goods are very good. This sunday morning I had the stuffed french toast for brunch. My, my, my! The service was much improved too. Gonna add a star.
Awesome atmosphere. The food is fantastic - a little pricey, but in my opinion it is worth it. Friendly staff and overall pleasant place to sit down and eat, whether with a friend or alone reading a book. I've been in Grand Forks for only 3 or 4 weeks and have been to Dakota Harvest at least 4 times.
Customer Service needs some real help but I think it's the real failure is the way they designed the counter. It inhibits the employees service. It's really tragic as it really is a great place to be once you get through the line...
The service can take a while some days. That said, the wait in line is worth it whether going for breakfast or lunch. The bread makes for excellent and affordable toast, the sandwiches are delicious and rotate daily. The soups are consistently well made and also rotate each day. For picky eaters, checking their menu online is probably a good idea.
I work downtown so I go here often. If you are looking for some local bread, fine place. The main issue I have with this place is that the customer service is consistently poor, slow and confused. It can be maddening to go in there sometimes. This morning: Hundreds of fruit flies swarming around the over-ripe bananas on the counter, mushy and underdone egg bake. Not an apology from a staff member.
