Royston Hotel

Great backwater Pub Straight out of the 1950s. A very unique Venue. It was great trying different beers when the Bar Staff actually know the beers they are recommending. Loved it
Good parma and fun trivia night on weds
its our local and after at least 10 visits and 4/5 meals we rate it as good value. friendly, certainly not pretentious and the food and beer are good value. Eg a pint of Pacific Ale is $8.50, a 500 ml stubby at the National is $13.50!! the special nights offer good value. The prices have gone up since then but still offers good value!
What a quirky warm and cool little Hotel.. the Royston Hotel is! The dining room is dim lit and quiet and offers an intimate dining experience with a great menu selection. I had the wild mushroom with barley risotto and it was lovely although a bit too much for me. My guests had the calamari and said it was the BEST she had ever had! I agreed when I had a bite! I shared the apple crumble, which was absolutely lovely and our guests also had the sticky date pudding which not only tasted great but the effort in the presentation was appreciated. The staff were attentive and friendly and the front bar wasn't overly big, which made it warm and inviting .. like your own little local. We finished the night in the front bar and sat in some well positioned comfy lounge chairs near the cool feature wall. For those who don't mind a game of pool .. there's also a table there as well. What a great little find!
Possibly the best pub in Melbourne
